UK offers to mediate transfer of German Taurus missiles to Ukraine

The UK suggests 'ring exchange' for transferring Taurus missiles to Ukraine, offering additional Storm Shadow missiles

British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said this in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung, RBC-Ukraine reports.

"We are determined to closely cooperate with our German partners on this, as well as on all other matters, to assist Ukraine," he said.

Cameron explained that he envisions a potential ring exchange. For instance, Germany would transfer Taurus missiles to Britain, and in turn, London would provide additional Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine.

"We are ready to consider all options to achieve the maximum effect for Ukraine. However, we will not disclose any details and will not inform our opponents of our plans," the minister emphasized.

Cameron also denied that the transfer of cruise missiles could lead to escalation.

"It is absolutely possible to establish restrictions on the use of this weaponry to ensure that it does not contribute in any way to escalation," said the British Foreign Secretary, adding that London trusts Ukraine's assurances.
