Bundestag recommends supplying Ukraine with Taurus missiles: fate hangs on Scholz's decision
On Thursday, February 22, members of the German parliament voted in favor of a recommendation to provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles
Yehor Cherniev, MP, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, reported the information.
"The Bundestag has just voted in favor of the recommendation to provide Ukraine with long-range systems for ‘pinpoint strikes deep in the rear of the Russian aggressor.’ That is, Tauruses. This is a coalition document, unlike the opposition document that was rejected a little earlier today.
The decision is up to Scholz. We are gradually raising the degree of the issue in order to achieve a result," he wrote.
Earlier, German MPs voted against supplying Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles, Welt reported.
It is stated that the relevant proposal was made by members of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group. However, they failed to receive a sufficient number of votes during the vote.
182 voted in favor and 480 against. Five more abstained.
