Baltimore air base may be first target for Storm Shadow, Scalp missiles - expert
Defense Express military expert Valerii Riabykh believes that the first most likely target for Storm Shadow and Scalp missiles could be the Baltimore air base, from which Russian aircraft attack Kharkiv with guided bombs
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
"The United Kingdom and France have confirmed that Ukraine is authorized to use Storm Shadow and Scalp missiles against military targets in Russia. These missiles in various modifications can have an operational range of up to 460 km. Therefore, the list of targets on the territory of the Russian Federation is very wide. We can assume that one of the first targets to be attacked by these missiles is likely to be the Russian Baltimore air base near Voronezh. This base is in the strike zone, even if we are talking about the range of Storm Shadow and Scalp missiles up to 260 km," explained Riabykh.
The expert emphasized that the list of targets for strikes with Storm Shadow and Scalp missiles on the territory of the Russian Federation is very wide.
"A strike on the Baltimore air base would be quite logical. Because it is from this airfield that the aircraft that drop the chemical weapons on Kharkiv take off. In particular, aircraft from this air base took part in the terrorist attack on the Epicenter shopping center. The list of possible targets for Storm Shadow and Scalp missiles may also include many control points and places where personnel are concentrated. The characteristics of the Storm Shadow and Scalp missiles are more suitable for targeted strikes against the enemy," he added.
- On May 2, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said that Ukraine has the right to use British weapons to strike at Russian territory.
- On June 2, France said that since Ukraine had not initially received restrictions on the use of its Storm Shadow missiles, it could fire them at Russian territory.
