A fake video has spread online, claiming that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated he plans to persuade Elon Musk to disable Starlink in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
"A video is circulating online in which U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio allegedly states in a CNN interview that he plans to meet with Elon Musk in the coming days to convince him to turn off Starlink in Ukraine," the statement reads.
The Сenter clarified that Marco Rubio never made such a statement. An analysis of the original video published by CNN shows that part of it was edited using artificial intelligence.
- Previously, billionaire Elon Musk denied reports that the U.S. is threatening Ukraine with disconnection from the Starlink satellite communication system.
