Ukraine reports 87 clashes along frontline, including 31 Russian attacks in Pokrovsk sector

Since the beginning of March 24, 87 combat clashes have occurred along the Russia-Ukraine frontline. The highest number of Russian attack attempts was recorded in the Pokrovsk sector

This was reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s update.  

"Russian invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders. However, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are inflicting significant losses on them in manpower and equipment," the statement said.  

In total, 87 combat engagements have taken place since the start of the day.  

Border settlements continue to suffer from relentless shelling from Russian territory, including Tovstodubove, Bachivsk, Bila Bereza, Tymofiivka, Oleksandrivka, Stepok, Hrabovske, and Porozok in Sumy region. Airstrikes targeted Myropilske, Turya, Uhroidy, and Krasnopillya.

Situation along main frontline sectors  

In the Kharkiv direction, Russia attacked the Defense Forces' positions twice near the settlement of Vovchansk. The settlements of Svitlychne and Slatyne suffered airstrikes.  

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions four times near Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahryzove. Three combat engagements are still ongoing.  

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched 12 attacks near Yampolivka and toward Stepove, Novomykhailivka, Novyi, Zarichne, and Dronivka. Seven battles are still ongoing.  

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian army attacked the Defense Forces’ positions three times near Chasiv Yar and in the direction of Diliivka.  

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attacked 10 times near Toretsk, as well as close to Diliivka, Dachne, and Krymske. One battle is still ongoing.  

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the Russian troops have made 31 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions near the settlements of Panteleimonivka, Oleksandropil, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Uspenivka, Novoandriivka, Andriivka, and in the direction of Pokrovsk, Kotliarivka, and Oleksiivka. The Defense Forces are holding their ground, having repelled 27 attacks, while four combat engagements are still ongoing. Russia losses are being clarified.  

In the Novopavlivka direction, Russia launched eight attacks near the settlement of Kostiantynopil and toward Vesele.  

In the Hulyaipole direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian forces twice, attempting to advance toward Vilne Pole. They also carried out airstrikes on the settlements of Novodarivka, Malynivka, and Hulyaipole.  

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian army unsuccessfully tried to advance toward Lobkove. The settlement of Kamianske was hit by an airstrike.  

In the Siversky and Prydniprovsky directions, Russian troops did not conduct active offensive actions.  

In the Kursk operational zone, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 10 Russian attacks throughout the day, with four more battles still ongoing. Russia carried out five airstrikes, dropping eight guided bombs and conducting nearly 190 shelling attacks, including two using multiple launch rocket systems.  

No significant changes were observed along other frontline sectors.

  • Reviewing the front-line situation and reports from Ukraine’s General Staff, Ivan Tymochko, head of the Reservists Council, said Russia is once again stepping up offensive operations.
