78 clashes occur at front on Oct. 11: Ukraine's General Staff names hottest areas

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 16:00.

Ukrainian defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the line and destroying the Russian plans, the General Staff noted.

"Over the last day, a number of settlements in the Sumy region suffered from enemy terrorist attacks. The enemy shelled Ulanove, Kucherivka, Marchykhina Buda, Holubivka, and Studenka with artillery; Yurievo, Rivne, Rivers, Yastrubyne, Rybka, Kysla Dubyna, Stepne, and Obody were hit by aircraft. Also, according to available information, the enemy carried out eight air strikes on the territory of Kursk region, using ten anti-aircraft gunships," the statement says.

Frontline situation

In the Kupyansk sector, the Russian army tried to advance towards Ukrainian positions in the areas of Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka, Lozova, and Pishchane during the day. Four enemy attacks are still ongoing. A total of eight combat engagements were registered in the sector.

In the Lyman sector, the aggressor increased the number of attacks to eight. Fighting took place near Hrekivka, Makiivka, Novosadove, Nevske, and Bilohorivka. Two firefights are ongoing.

In the Siversk sector, the Russians did not conduct any offensive actions, but launched an air strike with a guided aerial bomb in the vicinity of Yasnohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian defenders continue to repel two attacks near Kalynivka and Chasiv Yar. Four enemy attacks have already been stopped near Ivanivske and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk sector, Russia attacked six times in the Toretsk area. Four attacks have been repelled, and two more battles are underway. The enemy dropped two guiede bombs on Kramatorsk.

Russian activity in the Pokrovsk sector remains high. Clashes of varying intensity started 13 times today. Fighting is ongoing in the vicinity of Selydove. 12 attacks were repelled near Miroliubivka, Myrnohrad, and Lysivka.

The situation in the Kurakhove sector remains difficult. Fourteen attacks were repelled near Novoselidivka, Maksymilianivka, Kostiantynivka, Katerynivka, Antonivka, and Vodiane, and another battle is ongoing near Katerynivka.

In the Vremivka sector, the aggressor attacked ten times near Bohoiavlenka, Zolota Nyva, Novodarivka, Levadne, Rivne, and Olhivske with the support of aviation, and seven more engagements are ongoing.

No active actions were registered in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors today. Russia is conducting air strikes and artillery attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attacks.

• On October 10, 169 combat engagements took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Russia attacked most actively in the Lyman, Kurakhove, and Pokrovsk sectors.
