Ukrainian army reports 70 combat engagements occurring at front

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on March 13.

Russian attacks across Ukraine

During the day, Russia launched 2 missile strikes, 68 airstrikes, and 37 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks resulted in civilian casualties. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation 

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 30 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks near Tabaivka, Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region, where the Russian army tried to force units out of their positions. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled five enemy attacks near Terny and Yampolivka in the Donetsk region, where the Russian forces tried to break through the Ukrainian defense. Artillery and mortar shelling damaged more than 10 localities.

In the Bakhmut sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled three enemy attacks in the areas east of Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka, and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region, where the Russian army, with the support of aviation, tried to improve its tactical position. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 enemy attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. About 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian troops in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where the invading troops, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 19 times. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian army, with the support of aviation, attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 5 times near Staromayorske in the Donetsk region, west of Verbove and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, Russia does not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. About 30 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 7 Russian military positions. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces also destroyed one Kh-31 missile.

The missile troops struck a manpower concentration area.
