Near Chasiv Yar, there are 7-10 Russian troops per one Ukrainian soldier - UAV crew commander

Andriy Otchenash, the commander of the Kara Nebesna UAV crew of the 4th Rubizh operational brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, spoke about the situation in the Bakhmut direction near Chasiv Yar

He shared the information on the Espreso TV channel.

"The operational situation in the area is quite complicated for several reasons. The first is the use of guided aerial bombs and high-explosive aerial bombs. The second is that there are currently approximately 7-10 Russian servicemen for every one soldier of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and we have an urgent need to support personnel in the reserves. That is why I hope that the law on mobilization will be passed, and we will be able to defend our land much better. When we have the number of personnel needed to defend our country in our units," Otchenash explained.

The military stressed that despite the fact that for every Ukrainian soldier there are a huge number of Russians, most of them are neutralized or are wounded.

Regarding the Russian enemy's advance and successful operations, the UAV crew commander said:

"Taking into account the losses of equipment and personnel that the Russian Federation has now, all their local victories are a few forest strips that are completely irrational. That is, every time we withdraw from a defensive line, we move to better positions to destroy the enemy more efficiently."

This year, compared to 2023, the Russian enemy has started to use guided aerial bombs and high-explosive aerial bombs more actively.

"You need to understand that these bombs are cheaper to produce, so the Russians have the ability to use them in large numbers, and they cause a tremendous destruction. They can use them specifically to destroy Ukrainian positions and simply to destroy residential buildings. That is, they are trying to wipe Chasiv Yar off the face of the earth," Otchenash added.

Chasiv Yar is located to the west of the Russian-occupied city of Bakhmut and is part of the Bakhmut agglomeration.
