135 clashes occur at front over past day, Russian troops most active in Pokrovsk sector - Ukraine's General Staff

Since the beginning of the day on July 19, 135 combat clashes have been recorded at the front. The Russian army is most active in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions

This is stated in the General Staff's report as of 8:00 am.

It is noted that yesterday, Russia's troops launched four missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, as well as 77 air strikes, dropping 106 guided bombs. In addition, they carried out more than 4,500 attacks, 151 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

The Russian aggressor carried out air strikes in the vicinity of 7 settlements in Kharkiv region; 10 in Donetsk region; and 4 more in Zaporizhzhia region.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, five combat clashes took place in the vicinity of Hlyboke and Vovchansk. 

In the Kupyansk direction, the number of attacks amounted to 10 over the day. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russia's assaults near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Novoosynove, and Stelmakhivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russia attacked 16 times near 4 localities.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian assaults near 4 populated areas. A total of 11 firefights took place.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the invading forces attacked nine times in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Hryhorivka, and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, Russia carried out 19 attacks near Pivnichne, Toretsk, New York, and Zalizne.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repulsed 36 assaults in the area of 8 settlements, where the invading troops, supported by air power, tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions. The highest concentration of Russia's attacks was near Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka Persha.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Defense Forces rebuffed 11 attacks near Krasnohorivka, Karlivka, Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka, where the Russian army tried to break through the Ukrainian defense. 

In the Vremivka direction, the Russian forces carried out one attack near Vodiane.

In the Orikhiv direction, the occupation troops keep trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. Seven Russian attacks failed in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Shcherbaky, Robotyne and Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, six combat clashes took place on the left bank of the Dnipro River.

In the Huliaipole direction, the situation did not change significantly. 

On the border with Belarus, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.

Ukraine's Defense Forces hit one electronic warfare station and shot down an aircraft

Yesterday, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted 12 strikes on the areas of Russian personnel and weapons concentration, as well as destroyed one electronic warfare station, one Osa air defense system, and a helicopter landing site.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

  • On July 18, 130 combat clashes took place at the front. Most of the attacks were repelled in the Pokrovsk sector.
