130 combat clashes take place at frontline, Russia storms in 10 directions - Ukraine's General Staff

On July 18, 130 combat clashes were recorded at the frontline. Most attacks were repelled in the Pokrovsk direction

This is stated in the report of Ukraine's General Staff as of 8:00 a.m. on July 19.

Yesterday, Russian troops launched 3 missile and 73 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian forces and settlements, using, in particular, 101 KABs. In addition, they made 4675 attacks, 139 of them from MLRS.

Russia carried out air strikes near 7 settlements in the Kharkiv region; 17 in the Donetsk region; and 1 in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army continued offensive and assault operations. There were 12 combat clashes in the sector. All of them took place near Hlyboke and Vovchansk. Russian troops were actively using bomber aircrafts to carry out attacks.

In the Kupyansk direction, the number of attacks amounted to 11 over the last day. The Ukrainian defense forces repelled all assaults near Synkivka, Stelmakhivka and Berestove.

In the Lyman direction, Ukraine's troops stopped 14 Russian attacks near Makiivka, Nevske, Torske and Terny.

In the Siversk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces rebuffed 5 assault attacks. Russia tried to advance in 3 settlements.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian troops prevented 6 Russian attempts to break through their defenses. The invading troops, with the support of aviation, facused their main efforts near Chasiv Yar.

Russian troops continued their activity in the Toretsk direction yesterday. In total, they attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 20 times near Pivnichne, Toretsk and Niu York. They launched air strikes with KABs and unguided aerial missiles.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 27 assaults and attacks near 6 settlements, where the occupying Russian troops, with the support of aviation, tried to force Ukraine's units out of their positions.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped attacks near Krasnohorivka and Paraskoviivka, where Russian forces tried to break through the Ukrainian defenses 15 times. 

In the Orikhiv direction, 6 combat clashes took place near Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka, and Russia's army was not successful.

In the Kherson direction, Russian units keep trying to drive Ukraine's troops from their positions. Ukraine repelled 3 Russian attacks.

The operational situation on the border with Belarus has not changed. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russian forces maintain a military presence, shelling settlements from the territory of Russia, and conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities in Ukraine.

Ukrainian defense forces destroy two Russian control points and two air defense systems

Yesterday, Ukraine's aviation, missile forces and artillery conducted 16 strikes on Russian military equipment and manpower, destroying 2 control centers, 2 air defense facilities, 4 radar and electronic warfare stations.

In total, Russian forces suffered 980 casualties over the last day. Ukrainian troops also neutralized 5 tanks, 19 armored fighting vehicles, 55 artillery systems, 1 air defense system, 42 operational and tactical UAVs, 3 cruise missiles and 76 vehicles.

  • Over the last day, 112 combat clashes were registered at the frontline. The situation was the most intense in the Pokrovsk direction, while Russian troops became more active in the Kurakhove direction.
