Russian army attacks in 11 frontline areas, 112 combat clashes occur over past day - Ukraine's General Staff

This is stated in the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff report as of July 17 at 8:00 a.m.

According to the updated information, yesterday Russia's troops launched four missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements using six missiles, as well as 71 air strikes, dropping 119 guided bombs. In addition, they carried out more than 4,300 attacks, including 121 from multiple launch rocket systems.

The Russian aggressor carried out air strikes in the areas of 7 populated localities in Kharkiv region and 10 more in Donetsk region.

Yesterday, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted nine strikes on the areas of Russian personnel and weapons concentration, as well as hit the control center of a UAV and a Buk missile system.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, seven combat clashes took place in the vicinity of Hlyboke and Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, the number of attacks amounted to nine over the day. Ukrainian defense forces repelled adversary assaults near 5 settlements.

In the Lyman direction, Russia attacked nine times near Hrekivka, Makiivka and Nevske.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders rebuffed 11 assault attacks by Russian invaders in the area of 5 localities.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupation forces attacked seven times in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka and Opytne.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army carried out 11 attacks near Pivnichne, New York and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukraine's defenders repelled 24 assaults in the areas of 6 settlements, where Russia's troops, supported by air power, tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions. The largest concentration of Russian attacks was near Novooleksandrivka.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Defense Forces repelled 23 attacks near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka and Paraskoviivka, where the Russian forces tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops.

In the Vremivka direction, Russia made six attacks on the Ukrainian positions near Vodiane.

In the Huliaipole and Orikhiv directions, the occupation forces keep trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. Four Russian attacks failed in the areas of Marfopil, Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, one hostile assault took place near Kozachi Laheri.

The situation remains unchanged in the northeastern border area. No signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

On the state border with Russia and Belarus, Russia's forces maintain a military presence, shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to actively inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.
