‘Our defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the lines and destroying the plans of the Russians,’ the General Staff said, adding that during the day the enemy from the territory of the Russian Federation fired artillery at Vidrodzhenivske in Kharkiv region.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, three firefights took place near Hlyboke and Vovchansk, and one enemy attack is ongoing.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian enemy attempted to advance to Ukrainian positions near Lozova and Zagryzove twice during the day, one attack was successfully repelled, and the battle continues.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the invading Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions three times. They received a tough rebuff and suffered losses.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian attacks, and nine combat engagements have been recorded so far.

‘Ukrainian troops are depleting the resources of Russian forces along the entire frontline and in the rear,’ the General Staff assured.

  • Vladyslav Selezniov, military expert, colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2014-2017), noted that Ukrainian defenders near Kurakhove are holding a narrow section of the frontline, which is densely shelled by the enemy. The distance from the advanced units of the Russian army to the road that passes through Kurakhove and connects Zaporizhzhia with Donetsk is approximately 1.5 km.
