Russia tries to choose new tactics for air attacks, Ukrainian forces note
Natalia Humeniuk, spokesperson of the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces, noted that Russia, by conducting dense and mixed attacks, analyses the work of Ukrainian air defense and seeks new tactics of missile and drone attacks
She spoke about this on Espreso TV.
"We should not underestimate the enemy. We see what they are thinking about what they will use to attack in the future. We are also monitoring the activity of cargo planes on the Tehran-Moscow route. This may indicate that the Russian Federation is renewing a batch of Shahed drones or additional spare parts for their production on Russian territory," said the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Natalia Humeniuk added that analyzing the Russian attacks in September, about 300 Shahed drones were shot down in the area of responsibility of the Southern Defense Forces. This indicates the enemy's massive use of this type of weapon, which is obviously cheaper than using missiles. However, previous attacks in Odesa region were a mix of Shahed drones and missiles of various configurations.
"It is likely that during such attacks, the tactics for future attacks are also being selected. Because it is obvious that Russia is analyzing the effectiveness of our countermeasures, just like we are. That is, the air defense forces at this stage demonstrate 70-80% of the damage, so Russian enemy will look for new tactics," Humeniuk summed up.
