Russia strikes twice at Kherson сathedral, wounding civilians and emergency workers
In the morning, on August 3, Russian terrorists have fired twice at Kherson with artillery. At least 3 trolleybus passengers and 4 rescuers were injured in the attack
Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the information.
Russian troops attacked St. Catherine's Cathedral for the second time when rescuers were extinguishing a fire.
"Four employees of the State Emergency Service were injured. All of them are hospitalized and are being provided with the necessary assistance. Special equipment was damaged," the statement said.
According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, public transport was passing by the cathedral when Russian troops struck. Currently, 3 people are known to be injured.
"A 39-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man are being provided with medical care and are being examined. A 74-year-old senior citizen sustained severe chest wounds and a closed head injury, doctors are fighting for his life," added Prokudin.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, was the first to report the Russian attack.
"Russians shelled Kherson with artillery in the morning. They hit public transport that was carrying people to work," he said in a statement.

On Wednesday, August 2, Russian forces attacked private homes and a bank building in Kherson. Two people were injured as a result of the attack.
