Russia spreads false claims of Ukraine's division among Italy, Germany, Canada, and US
Russian propagandists are spreading information that the West is allegedly dividing Ukraine, with the Rivne region to be taken by Italy. The Center for Strategic Communications denied this
This was reported on the agency's Telegram channel, according to Espreso.
"The false claim: large-scale theft is taking place on the territory of Ukraine - the country is divided between the United States and the European Union. The "restoration" of Ukraine is actually aimed at a "big grab": the Rivne region is being taken by Italy, Chernihiv region by Germany, Sumy region by Canada, Kharkiv region by the United States," the statement reads.
This disinformation is being spread by Russian media with reference to "data from Western special services."
The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security noted that in fact, none of Ukraine's neighbors, except Russia, has territorial claims to Ukraine. All opposing statements by propagandists are just conspiracy theories.
"Fake news makers have distorted information about Ukraine's recovery, which was prepared by the American non-profit research organization RAND Corporation. The document assesses large-scale reforms and reconstruction of war-time Ukraine in the economic, security, humanitarian and social spheres. The document does not mention any "division of Ukraine between Western countries.” It just says that different countries will take patronage over different regions destroyed by Russia," the government organization emphasized.
