On the morning of August 31, the Russian Defense Ministry has blamed Ukraine for a drone attack in the Moscow region. It is noted that the drone was allegedly destroyed. Later, similar accusations were made regarding the Bryansk region

This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

"On the morning of August 31, another terrorist attack by the Kyiv regime using aircraft-type UAVs against targets in the Russian Federation was stopped," the ministry wrote.

According to officials, the unmanned aerial vehicle was allegedly destroyed over the territory of the Voskresensky district of Moscow region.

Instead, Sobyanin noted that the drone was flying in the direction of Moscow: "Today, air defense forces in the Voskresensky district destroyed a drone that was flying in the direction of Moscow. There were no casualties or damage. Emergency services are working at the scene."

In addition, the Russian news outlet RIA Novosti notes that flights are delayed at three airports in the Russian capital, namely Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Sheremetyevo. As of 7 a.m., the number of flights delayed has increased to 59.

The Russian TV channel Baza reports on the Kover regime announced at the capital's Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports. In Russian air navigation and aviation terminology usually it means a situation when, due to unforeseen circumstances, the airspace over a certain area or airport is temporarily closed to flights.

Attack on the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation

Another attack was reported by the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, and the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It is noted that around 10 a.m., Russians spotted an unknown flying object over the Bryansk region. To eliminate the Ukrainian drone, they engaged units of the Russian Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, according to Russian propagandists.

"The unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed by regular air defense systems over the territory of the Bryansk region," the ministry wrote.

Later, Bogomaz edited his message and noted that Russian air defense allegedly destroyed 3 drones.

He also noted that there were no casualties or damage and that operational and emergency services were working at the scene.

  • On the night of August 29-30, Russian air defense systems were allegedly activated in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, Moscow, Ryazan, Kaluga, Bryansk, and Orel regions.
