Russia saves shells, drops more fragmentation munitions from drones
Ukrainian forces have targeted Russian logistics and ammunition points, which has led to a decrease in the number of attacks. However, Russian forces remain active and use drones to drop shrapnel munitions
This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Ukrainian Defence Forces, at the Media Center Ukraine.
"The total number of attacks from the left bank to the right bank is around 60-70, slightly decreasing day by day. But the number of shells used remains at 300-400. This is also not the highest level, as there used to be a lot more shells, but now we are seeing a certain economy mode in their use," explained Humeniuk.
According to her, it is too early to talk about a general shortage, but the destruction of Russian army’s logistics and field supply points is already underway.
Despite the fact that Russia has reduced the activity of its tactical aviation over the past day, the situation remains tense. Russian occupiers are trying to advance by intensifying the dropping of fragmentation munitions from drones.
"That is, feeling the abandonment of artillery combat positions on land, they are trying to compensate for their pressure on the local population in any way possible," Humeniuk said.
The spokesperson also noted that enemy tactical aviation does not stop its activity in the direction of Snake Island, over the Black Sea.
"Where Russia cannot be active on the sea, it is trying to compensate for this again from the air, where it feels it has an advantage," said the head of the press centre.
- In addition, Humeniuk told Espreso TV channel that ships continue to use the humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea.
