Russia pounds Zaporizhzhia with missiles, damaging 36 buildings, educational institution
In the morning of October 15, invading Russian forces launched 10 missile attacks on Zaporizhzhia, damaging houses, an educational institution, energy and industrial infrastructure
This was reported by the secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, Anatolii Kurtev, on Telegram.
"In the morning, the Russian enemy attacked targets of industrial and energy infrastructure. There is destruction. The blast wave damaged 21 apartment buildings, 15 private sector buildings, an educational institution, and a parking lot," he wrote.
Communal workers have begun to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attacks.
No people were injured as a result of the missile attacks.
On Telegram, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Starukh, wrote that the Russian forces targeted Zaporizhzhia with 10 S-300 missiles and destroyed a number of energy and industrial infrastructure facilities.
The secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council also wrote about the fire as a result of shelling.
"Russian terrorists woke up the city again with their cursed rockets. Infrastructure targets were damaged. A fire broke out on the spot. Relevant services are working. Information about the injured people is being clarified," he noted.
According to preliminary information, the air defense system was operating in the city.
Earlier, Oleksandr Starukh reported about the shelling on Telegram.
"Attention! Enemy missile attack on the regional center. Head for the shelters. Take care of yourself!" he emphasized.
Anatolii Kurtev added that the information about the victims and the destruction caused by the Russian attack is being clarified.
An air raid alert was announced in the city at about 5:34 a.m. Around 5:50 a.m, it was reported that Zaporizhzhia had been shelled.
