Russia moves reserves from other front areas to hold Bakhmut – Defense Express
Valerii Riabykh, Development Director of the Defense Express information and consulting company, says that the Ukrainian army's pressure on Russian positions in Bakhmut is forcing the enemy to move more reserves to this area
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Speaking about the overall situation in the Bakhmut sector, the city of Bakhmut continues to be the place where the enemy keeps deploying more and more reserves. It should also be noted that the active actions of Ukrainian units in the south are forcing the Russians to constantly move reserves to this direction. The intention of the Ukrainian military leadership is to constantly put pressure on the Russians in the Bakhmut direction, which will make it impossible for them to develop their offensive. In particular, in the Lyman-Kupyansk direction," explained Riabykh.
The military expert added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to work hard and methodically to grind down Russian reserves in the Bakhmut sector.
"Near Bakhmut, the Russians are in a situation where they have been forced to move forces and reserves there for a long time to hold their positions in the city. The collapse of the front in this area could lead to an even greater retreat of the Russian army. Therefore, they are constantly saturating this area with reserves. In recent weeks, there has been no information about major advances by Ukrainian units near Bakhmut. Nevertheless, the Defense Forces are carrying out hard and methodical work and are taking up more favorable positions for further advancement. Every day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are grinding the reserves that Russia has moved and continues to move to the Bakhmut direction," he added.
