Additionally, Maliar reported the achievements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Klishchiivka area. So far, they have liberated a total of 47 square kilometers of territory during Ukraine's counteroffensive near Bakhmut. Over the past week, the reclaimed area has expanded by 3 square kilometers.

Russian troops are making futile attempts to advance in the Lyman-Kupyansk direction

According to the Deputy Minister of Defense, in the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repel several attacks a day and prevent Russian troops from advancing. The number of Russian attacks remains high.

Furthermore, in the Lyman direction, Russian forces have been conducting unsuccessful offensives near Novoyehorivka and Bilohorivka, Luhansk region. They are trying to regroup their troops.

In the Avdiivka and Marinka directions, Russian troops are trying to improve their tactical situation. However, these attempts to advance near the settlements of Sieverne, Avdiivka, Marinka, Krasnohorivka, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, were unsuccessful.

Ukrainian Defense Forces are advancing on the southern front

Maliar reported that Russian troops are maintaining their defensive positions in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. The Russian army continues to shell the positions of Ukrainian units as well as civilian objects in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

At the same time, they are actively launching Lancet barrage munitions.

In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are carrying out offensive operations in the Melitopol direction. In the course of the offensive, the Ukrainian Armed Forces succeeded in the direction of Novodanylivka and Novoprokopivka. There, the defenders are consolidating their positions.

Meanwhile, Russian forces in the southern region suffer significant losses in personnel, weapons and equipment, relocate units and troops, and use reserves.

  • According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on September 3, the Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced in the southern direction, while Russian troops attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones. On Sunday, September 3, the Russian army lost 460 soldiers, 4 tanks and a ship.
