Russia losses 850 soldiers, 24 tanks, 38 artillery systems in one day of war in Ukraine — General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to November 3, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel - about 303,270 (+850 per day) 
• tanks - 5,265 (+24)
• armored fighting vehicles - 9,901 (+24)
• artillery systems - 7,328 (+36) 
• MLRS - 854 (+4) 
• air defense systems - 566
• aircraft - 322
• helicopters - 324
• vehicles and tank trucks - 9,691 (+33)
• ships/boats - 20
• submarines - 1
• UAV operational-tactical level - 5,495 (+7)
• special equipment - 1,034 (+2)
• cruise missiles - 1,551 (+2)

General Staff report: Russian troops are trying to surround Avdiivka, Ukrainian Armed Forces repel over 10 attacks

This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In Kupyansk direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Ivanivka, Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled about 10 attacks there.

In Lyman direction, Russian troops did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

In Bakhmut direction, Russian troops tried to regain lost ground near Klishchiivka and Andriivka, where Ukrainian defenders repelled about 10 attacks. Russian troops also conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Pivdenne, Donetsk region. In turn, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their assault operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on Russian troops, and consolidating their positions.

In Avdiivka direction, Russian troops try to surround Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the defense, inflicting numerous losses on Russian forces. Russia’s offensive actions near 4 settlements in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful; the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled about 10 attacks.

In Marinka direction, Russian troops carried out unsuccessful attacks near Marinka and another settlement in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian soldiers repelled over 20 attacks.

In Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Prechystivka and Staromayorske, Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops tried to regain the lost position near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhya region, but were unsuccessful.

In Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conduct counter-battery operations, destroy Russian depots and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, consolidating their positions and exhausting Russian troops.

Russian army launches 7 missile and 70 air strikes on Ukraine

Over the past day, 50 combat clashes took place. In total, Russia launched 7 missile and 70 air strikes, and93 30 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. 

Russian troops launched air strikes on 24 settlements across Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

Over 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under Russian artillery fire.

Ukrainian forces destroy Russian command center and 4 personnel concentrations

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation carried out 13 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment and 2 strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems.

Ukrainian missile units hit a Russian command center, 4 concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, an electronic warfare station, an ammunition depot, 8 artillery pieces, and another important target.

• ISW analysts believe that invading Russian forces are likely preparing for another wave of attacks near Avdiivka, Donetsk region, despite their heavy losses.
