
Russia losses 8 tanks, 33 artillery systems and 880 soldiers in one day of war in Ukraine — General Staff
Ukrainian defenders repelled 47 Russian attacks on key frontlines and eliminated another 880 soldiers. Meanwhile, Russian troops are trying to break through Ukraine’s defenses near Avdiivka, Donetsk region
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 15, 2023, amounted to:
- personnel - about 287,770 (+880 per day)

- armored fighting vehicles - 9,362 (+25)
- artillery systems -6,866 (+33)
- MLRS - 813 (+2)

Ukrainian Defense Forces repel almost 50 attacks in a day
According to the General Staff, a total of about 60 combat clashes between Ukrainian and Russian troops took place over the past day.
In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.
In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 10 attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka, Kharkiv region.
In Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces hold back Russia’s offensive near Makiivka, Serebryanka forestry, Luhansk region, and Torske, Donetsk region. Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 attacks here.
In Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers launch assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on Russian troops, and consolidating their positions.
In Avdiivka direction, Russian troops try to break through Ukraine’s defense, but to no avail. Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 attacks near Avdiivka, Tonenke and Pervomayske, Donetsk region.
In Marinka direction, Russian troops carried out 10 unsuccessful attacks near Marinka, Donetsk region.
In Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops did not launch any assault operations.
In Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops tried 5 times to regain the lost position near Robotyne and Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region, but were unsuccessful.
In Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conduct counter-battery operations, destroy Russian depots and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.
The Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, consolidating their positions and exhausting Russian troops.
Russian troops launch 2 missile attacks at Ukraine
In total, Russia launched 2 missile attacks, 43 air strikes, and 59 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private homes and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
Russian troops launched air strikes on 25 settlements across Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
About 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under Russian artillery fire.
Ukrainian Armed Forces hit a Russian control center
During the day, Ukrainian aviation carried out 12 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, and 2 more on anti-aircraft missile systems.
Ukrainian missile troops hit a Russian command post, 2 artillery pieces and a personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration.

Over the past day, October 14, 43 combat clashes took place on the frontline. The Ukrainian Defense Forces conduct their offensive in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions.
