Russia loses one helicopter, 560 soldiers, and 10 tanks in one day – General Staff

Yesterday, August 7, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled Russian attacks in the Kupyansk and Avdiivka directions

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.22 to 08.08.23 were approximately:

personnel – about 250,800 (+560) 

tanks ‒ 4254 (+10)

armored personnel vehicles ‒ 8278 (+8)

artillery systems – 4996 (+19)

MLRS – 709 (+0)

anti-aircraft warfare systems ‒ 468 (+1)

aircraft – 315 (+0)

helicopters – 312 (+1)

UAVs operational-tactical level - 4158 (+4)

cruise missiles ‒ 1377 (+0)

warships/boats ‒ 18 (+0)

vehicles and fuel tanks – 7460 (+9)

special equipment ‒ 737 (+2)

Russians tried to recapture lost positions near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, and 37 skirmishes took place on the front

Yesterday, there were 37 combat clashes between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and the Russian army.

Situation in different regions of Ukraine 

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of over 30 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops shelled over 15 settlements across the Kharkiv region. Two areas suffered from air strikes and Russian offensive actions. Ukrainian forces hold the defense and repel all Russian attacks. 

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops shelled 6 settlements across the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russians shelled over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled Russian attacks in the area of Andriivka, Kurdyumivka, and Druzhba. 

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops shelled 8 settlements with artillery. Ukrainian forces repelled all the attacks near Avdiivka. 

In the Marinka direction, Russian troops shelled 8 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery. Ukrainian forces hold the defense near Marinka. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops shelled 9 settlements and launched air strikes near one settlement.  

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops tried to recapture lost positions near Robotyne, but unsuccessfully. They shelled over 30 settlements across Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Six areas were subjected to air strikes. 

Meanwhile, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive operation in Melitopol and Berdyansk directions. They are holding their positions and countering enemy attacks.

Russians launched 7 missile and 42 air strikes against Ukraine

The chances of launching missile and air attacks across Ukraine remain quite likely.

On August 7, the Russian army initiated 7 missile and 42 air strikes, as well as conducted 66 MLRS attacks on Ukrainian military positions and towns. The result of these aggressive actions from the Russian side has led to casualties among civilians, destruction of homes, and damage to important infrastructure.

Ukrainian forces down a Russian helicopter, hit 2 command posts, and 5 artillery systems 

Within the last day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces conducted 9 strikes on areas where the enemy had their personnel, weapons, and military equipment gathered.

In the past day, missile and artillery units targeted and hit 2 command posts, 3 spots where the enemy's personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated, 5 artillery positions, and 2 of the enemy's radar stations.

Ukrainian defenders also achieved the destruction of an enemy Ka-52 helicopter and 2 operational-tactical reconnaissance UAVs.
