Russia loses 610 soldiers, 26 missiles and 31 artillery systems in one day of war in Ukraine - General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 31, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel - about  263,020 (+610 per day) 
• tanks - 4,436 (+13)
• armored fighting vehicles - 8,604 (+8)
• artillery systems - 5,507 (+31)
• MLRS - 734 (+1)
• air defense systems - 500  
• aircraft - 315
• helicopters - 316
• vehicles and tank trucks - 7,976 (+23)
• ships/boats - 18
• UAV operational-tactical level - 4,417 (+22)
• special equipment - 830 (+5)
• cruise missiles - 1,445 (+26)

General Staff report: Russian army unsuccessfully attacks in three directions

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information.

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces carried out air strikes near 2 settlements. They also launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of over 25 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

• In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops carried out an air strike near a settlement and shelled 5 more settlements across the Kharkiv region.
• In the Lyman direction, Russian troops were attacking without success near the settlements of Novoyehorivka and Bilohorivka, Luhansk region. They launched air strikes near 5 settlements and shelled 4 more with artillery.
• In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops were attacking without success near Klishchiivka and Kurdyumivka, Donetsk region. They also launched air strikes near 2 settlements and shelled over 20 more settlements with artillery.
• In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops shelled 5 settlements with artillery. 
• In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hold back the Russian offensive near the town of Marinka. Russian troops shelled 5 settlements with artillery.
• In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops near Staromayorske, Donetsk region. Russian troops launched air strikes on 2 settlements in the Donetsk region and shelled 6 more settlements.
• In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful offensive near Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region. They also carried out air strikes near 4 settlements across the Zaporizhzhia region. Over 30 settlements came under Russian artillery fire.
• In the Kherson direction, over 25 settlements across the Kherson region came under Russian artillery fire.
• The Ukrainian army conducts offensives in the Melitopol direction, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

Russian troops launch 31 missile and 66 air strikes on Ukraine

Over the past day, the Russian army launched another missile and air strike on the territory of Ukraine, using air-launched missiles and Iranian Shahed-136/131 attack drones.

Over the past day, they launched 31 missile and 66 air strikes, 53 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed.

Ukrainian Defense Forces destroy a Russian electronic warfare station and a control center

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 10 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel and 4 strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems.

Over the past day, Ukrainian missile and artillery units struck 1 concentration of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, 1 control point and 1 electronic warfare station.
