Ukrainian army repels Russian attacks near Staromayorske, Donetsk region – General Staff 

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

Over the last day, Russian enemy launched 30 missile and 52 air strikes, fired 35 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries.

Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed.  The probability of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

Frontline situation

▪ In the Kupyansk direction, Russia launched an air strike near Kyslivka, Kharkiv region; 5 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling. 

▪ In the Lyman direction, the enemy led unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Novoyehorivka and Bilohorivka. Over 10 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

▪ In the Bakhmut direction, Russia conducted ineffective offensives in the area of Kurdyumivka, Donetsk region; over 20 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

▪ In the Avdiivka direction, more than 5 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

▪ In the Maryinka direction, over 5 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

▪ In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops near Staromayorske in Donetsk region. The enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Vuhledar and Zolota Nyva in Donetsk region. Over 6 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

▪ In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian army waged fruitless offensives in the area of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region. Over 40 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian forces. 

At the same time, the Ukrainian army continues their offensive operations in the Melitopol sector, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

Ukrainian army’s strikes against Russian forces 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation launched 10 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions and one strike on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system.

• On the night of August 29-30, Russian terrorists launched ‘kamikaze’ UAVs and cruise missiles to attack Ukraine. Two people were killed, and three others were injured as a result of falling debris in Kyiv. An infrastructure facility and a railway line were damaged in the Zhytomyr region. Air defense intercepted 28 cruise missiles and 15 Shahed drones.
