Over the past day, 36 combat clashes took place, the Ukrainian army continues to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidates its positions, and carries out counter-battery measures

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from 24.02.22 to 19.08.23 are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 257,010 (+500) people were liquidated,
  • tanks - 4,340 (+8) 
  • armored combat vehicles - 8,424 (+14) 
  • artillery systems - 5,212 (+19) 
  • MLRS - 714 (+0) 
  • air defense systems - 486 (+0) 
  • aircraft - 315 (+0) 
  • helicopters - 316 (+0) 
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 4,282 (+6),
  • cruise missiles - 1406 (+0),
  • ships/boats - 18 (+0) 
  • motor vehicles and fuel tankers - 7,665 (+7) 
  • special equipment - 785 (+2).

General Staff report: 36 combat clashes took place at the front, Ukrainian army advances at Melitopol and Berdyansk directions

It is reported that Ukrainian aviation carried out 10 strikes on the areas of the enemy's personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration and one strike on Russia's anti-aircraft missile system over the past day.

Missile and artillery units also hit 2 areas where enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated, targeted 4 artillery units in their firing positions, as well as 2 control points and 2 electronic warfare stations.

Over the past day, the Russian troops launched 3 missile and 41 air strikes, fired 74 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, the Russian terrorist attacks resulted in civilian casualties and injuries.

The situation in different directions of Ukraine

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops carried out air strikes in the areas of Chervona Zorya and Veterynarne in the Kharkiv region. They fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 25 localities in Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

Kupyansk direction: the invading Russian forces conducted air strikes in the areas of Kurylivka, Kyslivka and Hlushkivka in the Kharkiv region. Five localities of the region were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks.

Lyman direction: Russian army launched air strikes in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Spirne, Donetsk region. About 15 localities in both regions were attacked with artillery.

Bakhmut direction: the occupying Russian forces launched air strikes in the areas of Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. More than 15 localities suffered from hostile artillery attacks.

Avdiivka direction: over 15 localities in Donetsk region were subjected to artillery shelling.

Marinka direction: the Russian enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region. More than 10 localities in that region came under artillery fire.

Shakhtarsk direction: the invading troops conducted an air strike near Staromayorske. Over 10 localities in the Donetsk region suffered from artillery shelling.

Zaporizhzhia direction: the Russian army carried out air strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 settlements suffered from hostile artillery shelling.

Kherson direction: over 15 settlements were hit by Russian artillery shelling, including Mykhailivka, Antonivka, Kherson, Dniprovske in Kherson region and Ochakiv in Mykolaiv region. 

 
  • On the night of August 19, a large-scale air alert was announced in Ukraine, as Russia was attacking Ukraine with Shahed drones and there was a threat of missile and air strikes.
