Russia loses 500 soldiers, 17 armored vehicles, and 10 UAVs in one day
Russia's losses in the full-scale war against Ukraine reached 246,690 soldiers. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, and are entrenched at the achieved boundaries

The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022 to August 1, 2023 were approximately:

More than 40 combat clashes occurred at the front during one day
During the morning briefing on August 1, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian Federation continues to ignore the laws and customs of war. They use terror tactics and carry out strikes on both military and civilian objects.
In the past 24 hours, there have been more than 40 combat clashes between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and the Russian army.
Situation in different regions of Ukraine
On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops launched air strikes on two settlements in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. They also launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of over 30 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops shelled over 10 settlements across the Kharkiv region. One area suffered from air strikes. Ukrainian forces are holding the defense, they repelled attacks near Novoselivske and Berestove.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops shelled 5 settlements across the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Two areas were subjected to air strikes.
In the Bakhmut direction, Russians shelled over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.
In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops shelled 4 settlements with artillery, and two suffered from air strikes.
In the Marinka direction, Russian troops shelled 4 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery. One area suffered from air strikes. Ukrainian forces hold the defense near Marinka and Pobyeda.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops shelled 3 settlements and launched air strikes near 3 settlements.
In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops are on the defensive. They shelled over 40 settlements across Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Two settlements suffered from air strikes.
Meanwhile, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive operation in Melitopol and Berdyansk directions. They are holding their positions and countering enemy attacks.
Russia launched 9 missile and 57 air strikes against Ukraine
The chances of further missile and air strikes across Ukraine remain very high.
Over the day, the enemy launched 9 missile strikes and 57 air strikes, firing 61 MLRS rounds at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of these attacks, civilians, including children, were killed and injured, and residential buildings were destroyed.
Ukrainian soldiers hit 5 Russian air defense systems, TOS-1A Solntsepyok, and ammunition warehouse
The Air Force of the Defense Forces conducted 7 strikes on Russian personnel concentration areas and 3 strikes on their anti-aircraft missile systems.
Meanwhile, units of missile troops and artillery targeted 5 enemy anti-aircraft missile systems, a TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system, 5 artillery pieces, 2 radio electronic warfare stations, an ammunition warehouse, and 5 areas where Russian personnel were concentrated.

On July 31, the Ministry of Defense stated that the Armed Forces had made further advancements, gaining an additional 12.6 square kilometers in the south and 2 square kilometers in the direction of Bakhmut in the past week.
