Russian troops attack Ukraine with 32 attack drones at night, air defense destroys 25 of them

The General Staff notes that Russian troops  launched most of the attack drones at the Kyiv region.

In addition, they launched 2 missile attacks, 40 air strikes, and over 38 MLRS attacks times at both the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian objects in Ukraine.

Russia's air strikes targeted 18 settlements across Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions.

Over 45 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under Russian artillery fire.

Over the past day, over 30 combat clashes between the Russian and Ukrainian armies took place at the front.

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas.

In Kupyansk, Lyman, and Bakhmut directions, Russian troops unsuccessfully tried to break through the defences of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Berestove, Orikhovo-Vasylivka and Bohdanivka. Fierce fighting continues near Klishchiivka.

In Avdiivka, Marinka, and Shakhtarsk directions, the Ukrainian defence forces hold the initiative: they are holding back Russian troops, conducting assault operations and winning back Ukrainian land metre by metre. In particular, Ukrainian soldiers repelled about 15 attacks near Marinka.

In Melitopol direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, forcing the enemy to withdraw from their positions.

In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to conduct counter-battery operations, destroy Russian depots and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.

Ukrainian aviation attacks Russian personnel concentrations 8 times

Over the past day, the aircraft of the Ukrainian Defence Forces carried out 8 strikes on concentrations of Russian weapons and military equipment. In addition, air defence destroyed three reconnaissance UAVs.

Ukrainian missile troops destroyed 6 artillery pieces, 1 anti-aircraft missile system, 1 personnel concentration and 1  fuel and lubrication depot.

Ukrainian Defence Forces Command calls to ignore pseudo-elections in temporarily occupied territories

The Ukrainian General Staff reminds that on 10 September 2023, the Russian-installed authorities planned to hold illegal "elections of heads and deputies of local councils" in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

It should be noted that the vast majority of candidates do not even have a university degree and work as janitors, security guards and cleaners. The occupiers simply use their identities to hide the real "leaders" of the occupied territories.

These pseudo-elections and their results will not be recognised by the entire civilised world, and the very fact of their holding and the participation of the local population will be used by the Russian-installer authorities to account for human mobilisation resources and their further conscription into the ranks of the aggressor country's invading army.

The Command of the Ukrainian Defence Forces calls for ignoring participation in such pseudo-democratic events and avoiding conscription into the occupying army.

  • Late on Saturday night, 9 September, Russian terrorists launched attack UAVs at Ukraine. Air defence forces shot down more than 20 enemy drones.
