Ukraine's air defense forces destroy 26 drones during Russian night-time attack on Kyiv region

On the night of Sunday, 10 September, Russian troops launched 33 drones at Ukraine. Ukrainian Air Defence Forces managed to destroy 26 Shahed drones

Ukraine's Air Force reported the information.

It noted that Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed-136/13 UAVs launched from Kursk.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces recorded the launch of 33 drones in the direction of the Kyiv region.

As a result of combat operations, the Air Force destroyed 26 Shaheds.

Russian night attack on 10 September: details 

Late on Saturday night, 9 September, Russian troops launched attack UAVs at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down over 20 drones, 5 people were reported injured.

It is currently known that in one of the districts of the region, more than 100 private houses and 30 apartments in 7 high-rise buildings were damaged by the blast wave. Windows and doors were shattered, facades and roofs were cut. The consequences are being eliminated.

According to Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the blast wave also damaged the premises of a school, a kindergarten, a village council, a hospital, a training and rehabilitation center, a bus station, two shops, a warehouse, etc. Mostly windows and doors were smashed.  In another community, a training and rehabilitation center was damaged. Forest litter caught fire. The fires were quickly extinguished.

Espreso TV reported the information, citing with reference the official Telegram channel of the Air Force.

According to the Kyiv Air Force, as of 2:30 pm, there is information about four victims. 

After 01:33 am, air defence systems began to target Shaheds in Kyiv. The fall of debris was recorded in Sviatoshynskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Podilskyi districts of Kyiv.

"In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the debris hit an apartment in a multi-storey building. The owners extinguished the fire on their own. There were no casualties," the Kyiv City Military Administration said.

According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the debris fell on a roadway in Solomianskyi district and in an open area in Podilskyi district. There is a victim in the latter area who suffered an acute stress reaction. Medics provided assistance on the spot.

Later, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration said that air defence forces had destroyed over 20 enemy UAVs. As a result, cars, trolleybus power lines, and road surfaces were damaged as a result of the fall of drone fragments.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russian troops attacked Ukraine at night with 32 attack drones, 25 of which were destroyed by air defence.

They also noted that the Russian troops sent most of the attack drones to attack the Kyiv region.
