
Russia loses 15 tanks, 48 artillery systems and 510 soldiers in one day of war in Ukraine — General Staff
During the day, Russian troops tried to regain the lost ground in five directions, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled attacks and eliminated another 510 Russian soldiers
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 2, 2023, amounted to:

Russian army tries to attack in 5 frontline areas in a day, but fails
According to the General Staff, 38 combat clashes took place on the frontline over the past day.
In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.
In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In Kupyansk direction, Russian troops did not launch any assault operations.
In Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk region.
In Bakhmut direction, Russian forces unsuccessfully tried to regain the lost position near Andriivka, Donetsk region.
In Avdiivka direction, Russian troops tried to regain lost ground near Avdiivka, Donetsk region, but were unsuccessful. In addition, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks near the settlements of Keramik, Stepove, Avdiivka and Pervomaisk, Donetsk region. Russian troops launched 11 unsuccessful attacks near Marinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region.
In Shakhtarsk direction, Russian forces attacked without success near Staromayorske, Donetsk region.
In Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian forces tried to regain lost ground near Novodarivka and Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region, but were unsuccessful.
The Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, consolidating their positions and exhausting Russian troops.
In Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conduct counter-battery operations, destroy Russian depots and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.
Russia launches 10 missile strikes against Ukraine
Russian troops launched 89 air strikes and 39 MLRS attacks at both the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian objects.
Also, on the night of October 1, Russia launched another attack on Ukraine, using about 30 Shahed-136/1310 attack UAVs from the southern, southeastern and northern directions. Ukrainian air defense forces and means destroyed 16 Shaheds. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private homes and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
In addition, last night Russian troops again attacked Ukraine with Shahed-136/131 “kamikaze” drones. Information on the consequences of this terrorist attack is currently being clarified.
Russia targeted about 20 settlements with air strikes.
Over 150 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under Russian artillery fire.
Ukrainian defense forces strike Russian personnel concentrations 13 times
Over the past day, Ukrainian defense aviation carried out 13 strikes on Russian concentrations of personnel, weapons and military equipment.
Ukrainian missile troops hit an anti-aircraft missile system, a control center, an ammunition depot and 16 artillery pieces.

On the evening of September 30 and throughout the night, Russia launched a coordinated air attack on Ukraine, targeting various regions. The Russian attack damaged infrastructure in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region, and Uman, Cherkasy region, and injured one person.
