Russia launches 6 airstrikes and 19 missile attacks, AFU repel about 40 enemy assaults – General Staff

Russia launched 6 airstrikes and 19 missile attacks against Ukraine

On April 14, the Russian forces launched 6 airstrikes and 19 missile strikes, 13 of them from S-300 air defense systems, on the peaceful cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. In addition, the enemy fired about 20 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

“The likelihood of missile and air strikes remains high across Ukraine, as the enemy continues to use terror tactics against the civilian population,” the General Staff emphasized.

Ukrainian defenders repelled about 40 enemy attacks, destroyed a Russian command post

Despite the losses, occupying Russian forces are attacking at the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. The fiercest fighting continues for Bakhmut and Marinka.

Over the day, the Ukrainian defenders repelled about 40 enemy attacks in these areas, and Ukrainian aviation launched 5 strikes on the Russian military positions. 

Missile and artillery units hit 1 control center, 3 manpower concentration areas, as well as 1 enemy electronic warfare station.

Russian troops continue to use medical facilities for their own purposes

“For example, after surgeries in Horlivka city hospital, wounded Russian servicemen are transferred to the polyclinic of the Horlivka Machine-Building Plant. Currently, these civilian medical facilities employ about 185 Russian doctors. They provide medical care exclusively to Russian servicemen,” the General Staff noted.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the border areas: one settlement in the Chernihiv region, 4 more in the Sumy region, as well as 10 villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

In the Kupiansk direction, 12 settlements in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

In the Lyman direction, 7 settlements in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut sector, heavy fighting continues for the city of Bakhmut. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled about 15 Russian attacks in this area. 12 localities in the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

In the Avdiivka direction, the invading Russian forces attacked 4 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, the enemy had unsuccessful offensives in the area of Marinka, Donetsk region, where Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled about 15 attacks. At the same time, 2 localities in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, 7 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, 15 towns and villages were subjected to numerous Russian attacks.
