Russia has lost most of its tank regiment near Avdiivka - British intelligence
Russian Federation focuses on attempts to surround Avdiivka, Donetsk region, from the south, but has made little progress
This is stated in the report of the UK Defence Ministry on Twitter.
Intelligence reports indicate that Russia's 10th Tank Regiment has likely lost a large portion of its tanks while attempting to surround Avdiivka from the south. The regiment is part of the 3rd Army Corps, the first major new formation Russia stood up to support the invasion of Ukraine since August 2022.
"10th Tank Regiment's losses have likely been largely due to tactically flawed frontal assaults similar to those in other recent failed Russian armoured attacks, such as around the town of Vuhledar," the UK Ministry of Defence said.
The ministry added that the 3rd Army Corps is particularly dogged by problems with ill-discipline and poor morale. Despite a likely period of training in Belarus, the formation still appears to display limited combat effectiveness.

On March 26, the head of Avdiivka's military administration, Vitaliy Barabash, announced the evacuation of public utilities and asked residents to leave as well.
Starting from March 27, visiting Avdiivka, Donetsk region, is prohibited for volunteers and journalists.
Director of the information and consulting company Defense Express Serhiy Zgurets noted that Avdiivka remains the second most difficult frontline area after Bakhmut.
