He shared his opinion with Espreso TV channel.

"Any scenario of the development of events on the front, which is considered by the Russian enemy, will not critically change the course of hostilities. Currently, hostilities have intensified along the entire front line. Now the Russian enemy will try to implement active offensive actions in Bakhmut, Svatove, and Kreminna," Zgurets explained.

The expert is convinced that the Russian Federation does not have sufficient resources for major offensive in several directions.

"Russian troops will also try to intensify their offensive actions near Vuhledar. In fact, in the coming months, their main directions may become Bakhmut around Donetsk. However, we should not expect more large-scale and drastic offensive actions from the Russian Federation. Russia does not have  strength and capabilities for this," he added.

  • On January 16, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Putin set Gerasimov the task of seizing Donbas and forming a certain "security zone" by March.

  • On February 3, the Institute for the Study of War reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin overestimated capabilities of Russian Armed Forces, giving the order to seize the entire Donbas by March.
