
Russia attacks Ukraine with UAVs, causing casualties in Izyum, hitting Chernihiv high-rise
On the evening of Saturday, March 15, the Russian army launched drone strikes across Ukraine. The attack killed a woman in Kharkiv region, and damaged a residential building in Chernihiv
Kharkiv region
The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, and the State Emergency Service reported that at 9:52 p.m., three Russian Geran-2 drones struck a private house in Izyum.
A 67-year-old woman suffered shrapnel wounds and later died in the hospital.
Three others were injured — two 17-year-old boys and a 76-year-old woman.
Chernihiv
At 10:18 p.m., a Russian Shahed drone hit a five-story residential building in Chernihiv, according to the head of the city military administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi. Photos from the scene show partial destruction of the upper floors. The number of casualties is still being determined.
Another strike damaged private houses.
On the morning of March 16, the head of the Chernihiv regional military administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported that emergency teams had been working through the night to clear debris. Rescue operations are ongoing, and State Emergency Service pyrotechnicians are at the site.
As of this morning, no injuries have been officially reported.
Kyiv region
The Kyiv regional military administration reported on the morning of March 16 that a fire broke out at a manufacturing facility in the Fastiv district due to the Russian attack.
Emergency services are working to assess and mitigate the damage.
