In addition, firefighters extinguished a 300-square-meter fire. About 30 trade pavilions were damaged.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the shelling of Donetsk region on Telegram.

He said that Russians had attacked a local market in Kostiantynivka with artillery. As a result of the strike, 16 people have been killed and many wounded.

"An ordinary market. Shops. A pharmacy. People who did nothing wrong. Many wounded. Unfortunately, the number of dead and injured may still increase. When someone in the world still tries to deal with something Russian, it means turning a blind eye to reality. The audacity of evil. The audacity of meanness. Full-scale inhumanity," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President published a video from the scene of the shelling

Later, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that a child was among those killed in the attack on Kostyantynivka. In addition, the Russians wounded at least 20 people.

According to him, all services are working at the site of the shelling. The fire has been localized.

"Russian troops are terrorists who will not be forgiven and will not be given peace. There will be a just retribution for everything," Shmyhal wrote.

The day before, Radio Liberty correspondents reported on the shelling of the town.

Local media note that the central market of the city came under Russian attack.

The telegram channel "Typical Konstantinovka" publishes alleged footage of a hit in a crowded place.

  • On the evening of July 24, the invaders also shelled Kostyantynivka in Donetsk region with cluster munitions, killing 2 people (including a 10-year-old boy) and injuring 7 children and adults.

  • Later, as a result of this Russian shelling, a girl born in 2011, who had been wounded the day before, died in hospital.
