Russia and China block UN Security Council efforts to hold DPRK accountable - US ambassador
Despite the attempts by most of the UN Security Council’s members to hold North Korea accountable for its missile tests, Russia and China are doing everything to prevent this from happening
US Ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, made the statement during a video briefing.
"We have pushed hard in the Security Council to condemn the actions of the DPRK," Thomas-Greenfield said.
"And as you noted, both China and Russia have consistently protected DPRK from the actions of the Security Council. They have the veto power and they have abused that veto power," she added.
"The other 13 members of the Security Council have been consistent and strong in wanting to condemn DPRK, and we will continue to work to do that, particularly as we see more and more tests being done by the DPRK," said Thomas-Greenfield.

Earlier, the United States handed over to the UN Security Council Sanctions Committee on North Korea the evidence of the North Korean regime's supply of weapons to the Russian PMC Wagner for use in the war against Ukraine.
-
The sister of the North Korean leader, Kim Yo-jong, condemned the US military aid to Ukraine and said that the DPRK "will always stand on the same battlefield with the Russian army."
-
Subsequently, North Korea denied the data on the supply of weapons to the Russian Federation, and also warned the United States of "undesirable consequences" if they continue to spread such "rumors".
