The Insider reports that the April 10 incident involving the Mi-24 helicopter is at least the 13th time during the war that Russian aviation losses from "friendly fire". At the same time, more than half of the cases have occurred since the beginning of 2024.
According to journalists' estimates, the following were lost, probably due to the actions of their own air defense
- Four Su-35 multi-role fighters;
- Three Su-34 fighter-bombers;
- Two A-50U airborne surveillance aircraft;
- One Su-27 multi-role fighter aircraft;
- One Mi-8 airborne transport helicopter;
- One Mi-24 multipurpose helicopter;
- An Il-22M11 air command post (it was landed after the defeat, but requires long-term repairs).
Yesterday, on Aprile 10, the Spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy Dmytro Pletenchuk announced the elimination of a Russian Ka-27 helicopter in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
On the night of April 4-5, Ukrainian drones attacked Russian military airfields in Yeysk, Kursk, Engels, and the Morozovsk air base in the Rostov region.
