Rosneft will finance Wagner PMC: Prigozhin reaches agreement with company's head Sechin – Russian media

An informal meeting between Sechin and Prigozhin, which took place early last week, was reported to the ‘We Can Explain’ Telegram channel by an informed source close to Rosneft's management.

According to the source, following the meeting with Prigozhin, Sechin instructed him to provide financial support to Prigozhin's structures. The Defense Ministry source does not know which projects are in question.

Rosneft refused to comment on the cooperation at the request of journalists. Prigozhin's office has not yet commented on the deal either.

However, Z-channels now claim that Prigozhin did achieve his goal and received the ammo. This happened on the orders of the Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, a longtime associate of Igor Sechin (both worked in the FSB).

But there is still no evidence that Prigozhin's activities are approved by high officials. In February, pro-Kremlin political analyst Sergei Markov said that federal TV in Russia had banned references to Prigozhin and his PMC. Close to “Putin's chef” channels published a Defense Ministry guideline for the media, which also banned mention of the Wagner soldiers. Shoigu has outplayed Prigozhin in power games, and Russia’s Defense Ministry is now recruiting convicts in penal colonies instead of Wagner's PMC.

But now, perhaps, Prigozhin has gained a high patron.
