Rheinmetall will hand over 20 more Marder IFVs to Ukraine
The German arms concern Rheinmetall will transfer 20 more Marder infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) to Ukraine. The company received this order from the German government
This was reported by the concern's press service.
The order was placed in May 2023. Delivery is planned for the summer.
“Acting on behalf of the German government, Rheinmetall already shipped the first of twenty Marder IFVs to Ukraine back on 21 March 2023. Ukraine received a further twenty of these tried-and-tested vehicles directly from existing Bundeswehr stocks,” the company said.
“In addition to the Marders ordered to date, Rheinmetall can make a further sixty available,” it added.
The order is being fulfilled at Rheinmetall's plants in Kassel and Unterlüß. Up to ten infantry fighting vehicles can be produced in a month, the company emphasized.
They noted that the Marder infantry fighting vehicle is one of the most reliable weapons systems of its kind and is constantly being modernized.
