Rheinmetall gets large order for ammunition for Ukraine: details
German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall has received a large order for ammunition for Ukraine from the Bundeswehr. The delivery is scheduled for 2024
This was reported by the company's press service.
Thus, the German government has instructed Rheinmetall to supply tens of thousands of L15 shells for the Ukrainian army, as well as conventional 155 mm Assegai shells for the German armed forces. The contract is worth three-digit millions of euros, according to the group.
In July, Rheinmetall announced a new and expanded framework agreement with the Bundeswehr for artillery.
"The contracts provide for the supply of several hundred thousand shells, detonators and projectile charges," the company said.
The need to replenish the armed forces' ammunition depots is due to the war in Ukraine.
