Putin orders Shoigu to ensure no shelling of Russia's border regions
President Vladimir Putin has ordered Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to prevent the Ukrainian army from shelling Russia's border regions
This was discussed at a meeting on the restoration of housing infrastructure, the Kremlin's press service reports.
“Of course, the priority task is to eliminate the very possibility of shelling. But this is a matter for the military department,” Putin said.
He said that many people in Russia's border regions have lost their homes, been forced to move to relatives or temporary shelters, and faced water supply interruptions, lack of electricity and heat. Citizens' property should be repaired or compensated for losses, Putin said, addressing the government and local authorities.
