Putin ordered not to storm Azovstal industrial zone, but to block it "so that the fly does not pass by"

"I consider the probable assault on the Azovstal industrial zone inexpedient, I order it to be canceled", Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

However, this does not mean a refusal to block this territory.

"There is no need to climb into the catacombs, it is necessary to block the industrial zone in Azovstal so that the fly does not pass by", he pointed out.

The Russian defense minister told Putin that the Ukrainian forces in Mariupol remained only at Azovstal.
