President of European Parliament Roberta Metsola supports transfer of Leopard tanks to Ukraine
President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola called for further support for Ukraine and said that Ukraine needed weapons to survive
This was reported by the First German TV and radio broadcasting channel Tagesschau.
During a meeting with a group of Bundestag deputies from the Christian Social Union (CSU), Metsola stressed: "It is important to continue military support for Ukraine." So she also stands for the supply of Leopard tanks to Ukraine, as demanded by the CSU and politicians from other German parties.
Also, the President of the European Parliament welcomed the announcement of the German government on the supply of Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine. She noted that Russia wants Europe to look the other way when it comes to Ukraine, but this should not be allowed.
"It is important that Europe continues to provide Ukrainians with political, humanitarian and military support," Metsola stressed.
