Kuleba calls on Germany to transfer Patriot air defense systems, Leopard 2 tanks and Marder IFVs to Ukraine as soon as possible
Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba urged Germany to demonstrate leadership and deliver more anti-aircraft defense units and infantry fighting vehicles
This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, during an online briefing.
Kuleba expressed his gratitude to Germany for the decision to strengthen Ukraine's anti-aircraft defense and to transfer an additional seven Gepard anti-aircraft guns. He mentioned the video of its effective work against Russian missiles and said that he sent this video to a German colleague with words of gratitude.
At the same time, according to the minister, Ukrainian diplomats continue to make efforts in negotiations with the German side regarding the transfer of Leopard 2 tanks and the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine.
"The German side has already demonstrated leadership in the supply of Iris-T anti-missile defense systems and other important weapons. We also count on leadership in the transfer of Patriot, Leopard 2 tanks and Marder IFVs. There can be no taboos in matters of helping Ukraine with weapons to protect all of Europe from armed aggression of the Russian Federation," Kuleba said.
He also once again called on partners to strengthen military support for Ukraine.
"It is especially critical today to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian missile attacks. There is no need to look for excuses and postpone key decisions. It is time to close the sky over Ukraine, to do it with the help of air defense systems, which should arrive in Ukraine in sufficient numbers," Kuleba said.
