Poroshenko explains in Washington why NATO is no less interested in Ukraine than Ukraine is in NATO

Answering the question of how to convince members of the Alliance, who are skeptical about Ukraine's prospects, Poroshenko noted: "Please cooperate with these countries. Because this is neither a gesture, nor a gift to Ukraine. Remember, this is investment in your own security for those nations, for those member states that grant us permission", Poroshenko believes.

Today, Eastern Europe is not protected from Russia by fifth NATO article. Today, Eastern Europe is protected by blue-yellow flag of Ukrainian Armed Forces. We do your work. Help us do your job. Not permission, but inviting Ukraine to NATO is investment in your security", Poroshenko emphasizes.

"Why does Sweden, democratic nation in the north, think that they cannot guarantee their own security without NATO, and this is accepted? And Finland said that without NATO, having such a neighbor as Russia, it is impossible to protect nation", Poroshenko stated.

"The best NATO propagandist you know is Putin. He found arguments for Sweden, he found arguments for Finland, he found arguments for Ukraine. That's why don't try to find another option for mechanism," fifth Ukrainian President emphasizes.

"We have more than enough arguments to achieve this result. So let's start working on it. Let's start work with Congress, with explanation to Senate, because they are definitely for us, they are definitely for democracy, for freedom. We simply understand that after Putin destroyed all other mechanisms, only this can protect the security of the world," Petro Poroshenko is convinced.
