Poland has decided to supply Ukraine Leopard tanks to motivate other countries to do the same. In this way Warsaw insures its own security as well
The spokesman for the Polish government Piotr Müller made the statement to TVP.INFO, commenting on Poland's decision to transfer a company of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
"If we do not protect the independence of Ukraine, we are the next target," the spokesman for the Polish government said.
According to him, Poland wants Ukraine to defend itself, and for this purpose it needs weapons.
"This kind of political pressure should lead to other European countries joining (in providing weapons to Ukraine - ed.)," Müller emphasized.
He reminded Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia that they are also a potential target for Russia.
- On January 11, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the leaders of Poland and Lithuania Andrzej Duda and Gitanas Nauseda in Lviv.
