Pentagon orders Gepard air defense systems for Ukraine worth nearly $120 million
Global Military Products company has received a USD 118 million contract from the US Department of Defense for the purchase and supply of Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft systems for Ukraine

The Pentagon made the announcement.
"Global Military Products Inc, Tampa, Florida, was awarded an USD 118,375,740 firm-fixed-price contract for the purchase and delivery of Gepard 35 mm air defense systems," the statement said.
The work will be performed in Amman, Jordan, with an estimated completion date of May 30, 2024.
The Pentagon reminded that at the time of the contract, USD 118,375,740 was allocated under the Foreign Military Sales Initiative (FMSI) program for fiscal year 2010.

The US announced on Wednesday the allocation of another USD 300 million package of military aid to Ukraine. The new tranche includes additional air defense equipment, artillery, anti-tank weapons and ammunition, including small arms.
