Our task is to gather everyone to isolate some – Zelenskyy comments on China's “peace initiative”
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Chinese Foreign Ministry's statement on the war is not a "peace plan" but the country's opinion
Zelenskyy said this during a press conference dedicated to the one-year anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
"It seems to me that this was not a peace plan of China, not a resolution or a declaration. It seems to me that China demonstrated its thoughts. And I have already said that the fact that China has started talking about Ukraine is very good. The question is: what follows the words? Everyone says something. It is most important what they lead to, what is the result for us. Territorial integrity is the same. I think there is respect for integrity. Nuclear security is very important. It coincides with the interests of the world and our country," the president of Ukraine said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that the statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry also contains opinions he disagrees with.
"There are opinions I disagree with. The whole world seems to disagree with these points. But this is something. We have to use it and work with China. Our task is to bring everyone together to isolate some," President Zelenskyy said in a statement.

On February 24, China published a document with its stance on the "political settlement" of Russia's war against Ukraine. In an official statement, China did not support Ukraine but called for an end to "unilateral sanctions." The document calls the war a "crisis."
