Officials did not take appropriate measures to preserve Mriya - Ukrainian Security Service 

Ukrainian Security Service reports.

According to the results of searches conducted by Ukrainian Security Service employees together with representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office as part of the corresponding criminal proceedings, it was found that officials, despite warnings from state authorities, did not take appropriate measures to preserve the plane.

According to Ukrainian SecurityService, in addition to this, individual employees of the enterprise for a long time prevented the Defense Forces from organizing anti-aircraft and ground protection of the monument. All this led to the destruction of AN-225 and several other aircraft.

Currently, investigators are studying additional details of this case and conducting the necessary examinations, based on which further procedural decisions will be made.

As the Security Service of Ukraine added, during the identification of persons guilty of subversive activities against Ukraine, investigators also discovered facts of other crimes.

In particular, the former general director of the enterprise was exposed for organizing the illegal transportation of Ukrainians of military age abroad.

"According to the investigation, in March, this year, the official submitted to the State Border Service a list of employees who go abroad for aircraft maintenance. But he included outsiders in the group on a business trip. Among them is his close relative. Thus, the invaders were able to cross the border in the form of aircraft construction specialists" - Ukrainian Security Service writes.

Based on this fact, the ex-director was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art.  332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
