Number of F-16s Ukraine will get remains unknown - Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confidence that Ukraine will receive the fighter jets themselves from its partners in addition to training pilots on F-16s
He said this during a press conference at the G7 summit broadcast by Espreso TV.
“We already have an understanding of which countries we are working with. We have been working on this even before the F-16 training mechanism was unlocked. We will have aircraft. I can't say how many, because I don't know yet,” the president said.
He confirmed that the fighter jet training mission is open to Ukraine.
“This is the first step, then there are several months to train our pilots, and we will engage trainers with extensive experience to shorten the training process. The next step is to strengthen the air defense of the state. I cannot say now how many aircraft we will be able to get,” Zelenskyy summarized.
